Setting Up A Love Den

Setting Up A Love Den

I love putting together sensual spaces.  I like getting the lighting just right, setting up music, placing all the sensual furniture, and of course decorating. But sometimes life can get in the way of creating a sexy love den for you and your lover.

To me having a seven year old isn't the sexiest thing in the world.  He now has his own bedroom, but that doesn't keep him from wanting to visit us in the night, especially when he isn't feeling well.   Which is why having a separate space for intimacy is important.

If you don't have a  young child sharing your bedroom with you, then most likely you can create a love nest right in your own bedroom.  For those of us who don't have that option love nests must be moved to another place- a guest bedroom, the basement, a closet, or away at a hotel for special occasions and if you don't have room in your house.

Here are some guidelines to being creative and setting up a space for luxurious lovemaking-

1) Get the Lights Right- If the space doesn't have a dimmer switch on the lights, install one.  It's really easy and very inexpensive.  Less expensive than burning candles.  However, candles offer a wonderful glow and the wax from soy candles can be used as a warm massage oil.

2) Stimulate the Senses-  I love color in my love den.  If you are on a budget you can go to garage sales and pick up colorful fabrics, otherwise, visit your local fabric store for a wide array of textures and colors.  You can drape these all over the room  and hang them on the walls for quick transformation.  Bring fresh fragrant flowers into the space. Trader Joe's and local farmer's markets usually have the best deals on flowers.  Find different objects that add texture- a plant, some fluffily pillows, soft throes, or some inspiring erotic art.

3) Clear the Clutter-  Organize your love space so that it inspires you instead of making you think about everything that needs to be done.  This is a sanctuary and clutter can clutter up your libido and orgasms.  When I help people make a love space in their homes I am often surprised by all the "stuff" in their bedrooms.  There are TV's, books, bills, phones, clothes all piled around.  It's a wonder they get to lovemaking at all.  Clear away anything that doesn't inspire you to want to make love.

4) Choose Your Sexual Enhancement Tools- Every love space should have some tools at hand.  This doesn't have to be expensive.  You can use feathers, foods, hands, spoons, flowers…basically anything around your house can become a sensory object. If you have kids you might want to lock them up inside of cases (I recently got a locking professional make-up train case that's perfect). If you have a budget to purchase some items I recommend the following list:

1 Vibrator (Embrace Massage Wand, Inspire Vibrating Breast Massager, Vanity )

1 Dildo (Key Comet)

1 Kegel Sexercisor (Mini Stell II, Inspire Kegel Exercise Kit)

1 Anal Toy (Lust L11 and L13)

Liberator Fascinator Throe

Sensual Massage Oil (Coconut Oil, or Essence Indulgence Oil)

Hemp Rope and/or Leather Hand Cuffs (with fur)

Massage Table

Of course this list can be modified to suite your particular desires for what type of activities you would like to par take in.

Take a look around your bedroom right now.  What can you do to spice it up a bit?  What can you do to make it a sexy space that invites the erotic artist in your or your partner to come out and play?  Now, go do it.  You may see results in just one day!
